CA 95 Digital Piano
The Concert Grand experience in the comfort of your home
Kawai has been crafting musical instruments for 85 years, maintaining traditional processes while embracing original ideas. These decades of experience afford our engineers a wealth of knowledge from which to create stunning digital instruments, in a quest to perfect the art of the piano.
A digital piano that will transform enthusiastic players into accomplished pianists, and modest homes into grand concert halls. This is the ambitious philosophy behind the Concert Artist digital pianos – a premium instrument that captures the essence of playing a magnificent concert grand piano, and inspires musicians to realise their true artistic potential.
To achieve this ambition, every aspect of the new Concert Artist has either been redeveloped or significantly improved, ensuring that this flagship instrument provides the most authentic playing experience of any digital piano.
The instrument’s new Grand Feel keyboard action reinforces Kawai’s reputation as an industry leader, utilising real wooden keys with luxurious Ivory Touch surfaces, and incorporating premium features such asLet-Off simulation and triple-sensor key detection.
This class-leading keyboard action is bolstered by powerful new digital audio technologies that faithfully reproduce the exquisite sound of Kawai’s magnificent EX concert grand piano.
With the latest Harmonic Imaging XL sound sampling, remarkable 256 note polyphony, and brand new reverberation and resonance modelling effects, the new Concert Artist delivers unparalleled acoustic realism that is guaranteed to enthral performers and audience members alike.
Yet despite the abundance of powerful technology on the inside, the Concert Artist still manages to deliver a remarkably traditional piano playing experience. This is thanks to the instrument’s concealed control panel and handsome cabinet design, with a selection of distinctive grand piano-like characteristics that celebrate Kawai’s rich, classical pedigree.
Unrivalled grand touch, breathtaking acoustic tone, distinctive traditional design, and inspirational modern features. Concert Artist from Kawai – the concert grand piano experience in the comfort of your home.
The Touch of a Grand Piano
The keyboard action of an acoustic grand piano is composed of black and white keys, graded hammers, and numerous other components working in harmony when each note is pressed. This beautifully designed mechanism allows gifted pianists to express a wealth of feeling and emotion in their music, as they appreciate and respond to the tactile nuances transmitted through the keyboard.
Translating the piano action’s intricate movements to a digital instrument, while retaining these acoustic-like subtleties is a stunning achievement – one which has drawn upon 85 years of experience in building some of the world’s finest pianos.
Grand Feel keyboard action
Embracing many of the long-established principles associated with an acoustic piano, the new Grand Feelkeyboard action utilised by the latest Concert Artist combines realistic materials, motion, and mechanism to recreate the exceptional touch of the finest concert grand pianos.
All eighty-eight black and white keys are crafted entirely from long pieces of wood, with finely textured ivory-like surfaces applied to absorb moisture and assist control. Each wooden key pivots smoothly on a balance pin – the ends rising and falling to replicate the familiar ‘seesaw’ motion of an acoustic piano action. When pressed, the back of the key lifts, triggering a grade-weighted hammer to strike a pressure switch. The amount of force applied to this switch is then measured, and the corresponding note played with authentic tonal character and volume.
Additional counter-weights placed at the front of the bass keys help to lighten their heavier touch during pianissimo passages, with let-off simulation also reproducing the delicate ‘notch’ sensation felt when playing the keys of a grand piano very softly.
These subtle characteristics allow discerning pianists to practise their expanding repertoire with confidence, and ensure that there are no unpleasant surprises when called upon to perform using the finest acoustic grand pianos.
Ivory Touch key surfaces
The exceptional Concert Artist features Kawai’s highly regarded Ivory Touch key surfaces as standard. This finely textured material gently absorbs fingertip perspiration and oils to assist playing control, and possesses a natural, matte finish that is smooth but not slippery.
Furthermore, this moisture is absorbed without dirt or grease permeating the surface, allowing the keytops to be wiped clean easily using just a damp cloth.
Triple-sensor key detection
Complementing the grand piano-class key pivot length, the Grand Feel action also features a new triple-sensor key detection system for enhanced playing realism. The third sensor improves responsiveness when playing the same key repeatedly, and also allows the sound of a single note to be gradually ‘layered’ without the previous tone being lost.
In addition, improvements to the Concert Artist’s sound hardware also permit the speed at which keys are lifted to influence the release character of piano sounds, providing a greater range of expressive detail between staccato and legato playing.
Longer keys, extended pivot length
In addition to having the longest keys of any digital piano, the new Grand Feel keyboard action also boasts the longest key pivot length – matching that of a Kawai grand piano.
This improvement ensures a more evenly balanced key touch weight from front to rear, and is particularly beneficial when playing complicated chords with fingers positioned towards the back of the keyboard.
The significance of real wooden keys
Wood has been the preferred material for acoustic piano keys for centuries, and was first introduced in Kawai digital pianos over 25 years ago. Yet despite the countless improvements to acoustic and digital piano action technologies in recent years, engineers still recognise that wood remains the best material for the keyboard.
Unlike plastics and most other man-made substances, wood possesses unique characteristics that allow it to absorb a degree of movement energy and flex slightly when compressed. This means that when a pressing a wooden key it reaches the cushioned felt keybed with a natural, reassuring stop, rather than a jarring, noisy halt.
Wood’s outstanding resonance properties are widely accepted, making it an ideal choice for string instruments such as guitars, violins, and of course pianos. Wooden piano keys are also known to vibrate, subtly channelling the sound energy of the instrument back through the fingertips, and enhancing the musician’s playing experience.
Finally, wooden keys are inherently special. The look, feel, and even the smell of wooden keys furnish the Concert Artist with an organic quality that helps the player to feel a closer connection with their piano. And it is this important personal connection that ultimately allows pianists to relax, and lose themselves in the joy of making music.
The Sound of a Grand Piano
The Kawai EX concert grand piano is widely regarded by professional pianists and piano technicians as one of the finest instruments within its class. Hand-built by Master Piano Artisans at the Shigeru Kawai Piano Research Laboratory in Ryuyo, Japan, each EX instrument undergoes a meticulous regulation and refinement process within a specially designed anechoic chamber.
Following this lengthy crafting period, the completed EX concert grand piano receives a final series of rigorous quality inspections, before eventually taking centre stage in the world’s most prestigious musical institutions and concert halls.
88-key Piano Sampling
The beautiful sound of the Kawai EX concert grand piano is at the heart of the new Concert Artist, with all eighty-eight keys of this world-class instrument painstakingly recorded, meticulously analysed, and accurately reproduced as high-fidelity digital waveforms.
Recording each key individually in this way – as opposed to stretching the same tone over several different notes – preserves the rich harmonic character of the EX concert grand piano, and guarantees that the sound heard when playing any one of the Concert Artist’s wooden keys is a faithful representation of the original acoustic source.
Harmonic Imaging technology
When playing a fine piano, the amount of pressure applied to the keyboard affects not only the volume of the sound produced, but also the unique tonal character of each note. Therefore, in order to construct a realistic acoustic portrait of the EX concert grand piano, not only is each key recorded individually, but also at various different volume levels, ranging from gentle pianissimo to thunderous fortissimo.
The new Concert Artist offers a highly detailed acoustic portrait, with Harmonic Imaging XL technology ensuring smooth tonal transitions across the keyboard and throughout the entire dynamic range.
Extra-Long Sampling (hi-xl)
With expanded piano sound memory, the new Concert Artist boasts the largest sample size of any Kawai digital piano. This ‘eXtra Long’ standard of Harmonic Imaging technology extends the important attack portion of the piano sound by up to 120%, articulating the natural detail and resonance characteristics of each note more clearly, and improving the instrument’s organic tonal quality overall.
Acoustic Piano variety
The Concert Artist showcases a variety of Concert, Studio, Jazz, Modern, and Pop grand piano sounds that are suitable for a wide range of musical periods and styles. In addition, a traditional Kawai upright piano sound is also included for pieces that suggest a feeling of nostalgia, or call for a slightly more intimate tonal character.
Improved Virtual Technician
The Concert Artist’s improved Virtual Technician functions invite discerning musicians to shape aspects of the selected piano’s character to suit their preferences.
Players can perform touch and voicing adjustments, regulate hammer and key release noises, and fine-tune string, lid, and damper resonances. It is even possible to adjust the precise tuning and volume of individual notes – all in real-time. Then, with the desired refinements complete, save the fully prepared instrument to an onboard registration memory or USB device, or exchange favourite settings with other Concert Artist owners online.
Redeveloped Effects & Reverb
The Concert Artist’s powerful new digital effects engine further enhances the instrument’s superior core sounds, applying additional layers of detail and realism that bring performances to life.
Studio quality chorus, tremolo, delay, and auto-pan effects can be used to tailor a sound’s character and feeling, with modelled amplifier/speaker simulations applying vintage warmth to electric pianos and trademark growl to drawbar organs. The depth of a performance can then be transformed using the Concert Artist’s updated reverb features, allowing pianists to position themselves within one of six acoustic environments, ranging from a small practise room to an inspirational grand cathedral.
Superior speaker system
The Concert Artists feature high fidelity speaker systems that have been specially designed to deliver deep bass and crisp treble frequencies, with the flagship CA95 piano also incorporating an improved version of Kawai’s highly-regarded Soundboard Speaker System.
As with the original design, this unique audio technology embraces the rich, harmonic qualities of wood, channelling sound energy onto a spruce soundboard to produce an organic tone. The redeveloped system further advances this concept, utilising longer soundboard ribs that broaden the frequency range and volume of the resonating sound. The result is a remarkably authentic playing experience that immerses the performer, and faithfully reproduces the tonal ambience of an acoustic piano.
The Variety of a Digital Piano
Complementing the instrument’s class-leading Grand Feel keyboard action and stunning Harmonic Imaging XL grand piano sound, the Concert Artist also offers a strong selection of digital features that further enhance one’s musical enjoyment.
USB audio recording and playback, Dual, Split, and Four Hands keyboard modes, and a rich assortment of customisable instrument voices add greater variety to players’ performances, while the convenient metronome function and integrated classical etudes or Alfred course books ensure that regular practise is both productive and engaging for aspiring pianists.
Rich Sound Selection
Supplementing the beautiful acoustic piano voices, the Concert Artist also features an excellent selection of additional sounds, ranging from electric pianos and drawbar or church organs, to strings, and other instruments, inviting musicians to add variety to their performances.
Furthermore, the Dual playing mode also allows two different sounds, such as grand piano and strings, to be layered together, while the Split and Four Hands modes divide the keyboard into two independent sections. The volume balances and other settings for each playing mode can also be adjusted quickly and easily using the real-time panel controls.
Lesson & Finger Exercises
The Concert Artist’s convenient lesson function allows aspiring pianists to learn piano with classical Czerny, Burgmüller, Beyer and Bach etudes, or a collection of songs from the popular Alfred Basic, Adult, and Premier course books (depending on market location). With a strong emphasis on acoustic piano realism, both models also feature traditional finger exercises, scales, and warm-up drills, and include a companion book of printed scores to further aid one’s practise.
Grand Feel Pedal System
einforcing the Concert Artist’s reputation as the most realistic digital piano is Kawai’s Grand Feel PedalSystem. This new development accurately replicates the individual weighting of the sustain, soft, and sostenuto pedals of a Kawai EX Concert grand piano to further enhance the Concert Artist’s acoustic piano authenticity.
Moreover, it is also possible to adjust the half-pedal sensitivity of the damper pedal, and effectiveness of the soft pedal using specially engineered Virtual Technician parameters, allowing musicians to personalise the instrument’s response to match their preferred pedalling technique.
Energy Conservation
The new Concert Artist utilises modern, energy efficient components that reduce electricity consumption by 50% (compared to previous models), while the instrument’s optional power saving feature can also turn off the piano automatically after a specified period of inactivity.
Flexible USB Connectivity
The Concert Artist is equipped with modern USB connectors that not only allow the instrument to be connected to a computer for MIDI use, but also to load and save data to USB memory devices directly.
This latter USB to Device functionality allows favourite instrument settings, registrations, and memorable recorder songs stored in internal memory to be safely preserved on USB, or standard MIDI files (SMF) downloaded from the internet to be listened to using the instrument’s exquisite Harmonic Imaging XL sounds without additional hardware.
MP3 Audio Playback & Record
USB memory devices can also be used to play back MP3 or WAV audio files, allowing musicians to learn the chords or melody for a new piece, or to simply play along with their favourite songs. It is even possible to record entire performances (including external line-in audio*) directly as MP3 or WAV audio files for emailing to family and friends, or casual listening away from the piano.
Useful Connectivity Options
In addition to USB to Host and USB to Device connectors, the Concert Artist also features standard LINE-level audio and MIDI jacks. These useful connectivity options allow the instrument to be enjoyed in larger settings such as churches or school halls, and provide greater flexibility when using computers and other audio devices.
Appreciating Acoustic Piano Design
Standing proudly amongst other items of fine furniture, a piano is often considered the centrepiece of any room it occupies. With elegant cabinetry, striking accents, and a natural wooden finish, the exterior appearance of a piano contributes more to the overall aesthetic of playing and listening to music than arguably any other instrument. This shared belief inspires Kawai’s digital and acoustic piano designers to work together, developing original ideas that improve functionality, without detracting from an instrument’s traditional character.
Grand Feel Design: Character & Purpose
Sitting down at the new Concert Artist, the first thing that strikes the player is the instrument’s flat fascia and tall upper board, giving the impression of a grand piano and immediately elevating the musical aspirations of the performer. The distinctive KAWAI logo – representing 85 years of piano excellence – adorns the Concert Artist’s fallboard, its warm, metallic finish glimmers in the light, capturing the movements of the keyboard below. The elegant curves furnishing either side of the cabinet are balanced by the instrument’s handsome tapered leg design. These front legs are supported by real wooden toe blocks, conveying stability, distinction, and a classical presence.
The instrument’s broad music rest is designed to accommodate the most ambitious musical works, with smoothly bevelled edges and simulated leather lining the base. As with a grand piano, the viewing angle of the Concert Artist’s music rest can be adjusted to suit the performer’s playing position, or laid flat for convenience when notating scores or sketching musical ideas.
Subtly concealing its impressive digital features, the Concert Artist’s main control panel is discreetly embedded within the piano’s left cheek block. This helps to preserve the instruments’ grand piano-like appearance, and allows performers to enjoy the simple pleasure of playing music without the distraction of flashing lights and rows of buttons. And for added convenience, the Concert Artist’s USB and dual headphone jacks are separated from the instrument’s main connections panel, mounted beneath the keyboard in an accessible position, yet hidden from the player’s eye-line.
GX-7 Grand Piano
At the lofty pinnacle of the GX Series, the regal GX-7 speaks with the transcendent character and authority that has made it the definitive choice of the consummate professional.
The new standard of grand piano design is beyond imagination. Combining state-of-the-art technology with traditional craftsmanship. Applying knowledge and experience handed down from generation to generation. Defining the ‘made in Japan’ philosophy of piano building. Lightness of touch usually experienced by only the very finest concert pianists. Rich, vivid, expressive tone that inspires one’s creative passion. A new era of grand piano performance has arrived.
Joyous touch to awaken one’s imagination
The new GX Series grand pianos aim to reproduce the delicate control of a full concert grand piano, delivering a level of refinement that few pianists have the opportunity to experience.
In order to achieve this ambitious goal, the length of the keyboard has been extended significantly, increasing the fulcrum distance for each key. This extended key pivot length results in a more consistent touch weight when playing towards the back of the keyboard, affording the pianist greater expressive control, and allowing one’s imagination to soar freely.
In addition, the GX Series’ advanced Millennium III keyboard action incorporates the latest materials; combining ABS resin with carbon fibre to further improve one’s playing experience. This ABS-Carbon compound is both highly rigid and extremely lightweight – characteristics that have seen the same material successfully employed throughout the aeronautics industry as a superior alternative to wood. By utilising action parts fashioned from ABS-Carbon, the GX Series’ keyboard action is more durable and less prone to performance degradation over time, while also delivering improved responsiveness and control. This evolution in keyboard touch can be experienced by the pianist with every key stroke, from the first to the very last note played.
Purity of tone that fills the room
In order to produce Kawai’s special tone, a broad range of woods are meticulously analysed for quality and character, before being selected as the finest materials for each specific purpose. The soundboard has arguably the most significant influence over a piano’s individual tonal elements. Therefore, woods that conform to the most rigorous gravity and propagation velocity standards are carefully selected by experienced craftsmen in order to achieve rich, deep bass tones, and bright, colourful, sustaining treble tones. In addition to the soundboard, bridges, and ribs, optimum materials for the inner-rim are also carefully considered, combining the unique properties of different hardwoods to create a layered hybrid construction. This produces a broad range of sound, allowing even greater expressive power.
In order to produce a richer, more immersive sound, the overall rigidity of the GX instruments’ body has also been improved. The thickness of the upper beam that attaches to the outer-rim is increased, allowing the pin blocks to support a tensile strength load of approximately 20 tons. As the tone of each note is improved, the sense of three-dimensional sound is also enhanced. Moreover, increasing the rigidity of the piano’s carbon steel tuning pins further strengthens the instruments’ tuning stability, to meet the rigorous demands of the finest pianists.
Quiet yet strong, loud yet delicate – unparalleled tonal expression
In order to realise the pianist’s infinite range of expression, the GX Series utilises premium grand piano hammers. These hammers are constructed from wood that possesses excellent acoustic properties, with hammer felt prepared from the finest quality long-haired New Zealand and Australian wool. These felted hammers have a soft, delicate exterior, yet are tight and rigid on the inside. When playing pianissimo passages, the strings are struck by the delicate exterior felt of the hammer to produce a soft and gentle tone, while fortissimo passages utilise the tighter, harder interior felt, thus producing a louder, more powerful sound. Moreover, all hammers are under-felted in order to further improve their resilience. These steps allow experienced piano technicians to perform the most subtle of voicing adjustments in order to maximise the instrument’s exquisite sonic potential. Delivering a broad range of tonal colour from pianissimo to fortissimo, and a rich variety of musical expression.
The instrument’s duplex scale system further enhances the harmonics of middle and upper-range tones, adding depth and breadth to the overall sound. And to ensure the ultimate touch at the keyboard surface – that magical point where the pianist and the piano become one – all GX instruments adopt premium Neotex coating for white and black keys. This unique material possesses moisture absorbent characteristics to enhance touch control and prevent mistakes, and inspires a sense of reassuring satisfaction within the pianist.
A lifetime of happiness, wrapped within a grand piano
Preserving the treasured design of a grand piano, while pursuing new details of elegance – this is the design concept of the GX Series. The instrument’s exterior design, with its gentle curves and broad music rest, establishing the traditional characteristics and captivating form of a grand piano. Expanding the instrument’s upper-beam thickness not only reinforces the piano’s overall structural rigidity, but also serves to further distinguish this exterior design, with Kawai’s highly prized painting and finishing process affording the piano body its distinctive, luxurious ebony polish appearance. However, the beauty of the GX Series truly shines upon opening the instrument’s top-board. The mesmerising brilliance of the glowing golden frame, the delicate woodwork and abundant expression of quality displayed along the inner rim, the luxurious elegance of rich black felt, and the reassuring display of hand-made craftsmanship – verified by the Kawai frame mark. These are the characteristics that embody the spirit of ‘THE GRAND’.
Finally, the GX Series instruments feature useful mechanisms such as multi-angle piano lid props, and Kawai’s original ‘Soft Fall’ system, which closes the fallboard gently and slowly, protecting the player’s hands from jarring lid accidents.

All K Series models offer elegant lines and delicate case accents to enhance their outward beauty. Great care was taken to ensure a stylish, well-balanced design for each model.
Casters
All K Series models feature front casters made of brass for both beauty and reliability.
A Grand Design
The K-8 offers many of the cabinet elements usually associated with grand pianos. Its fallboard style, arm panels, side panels and expansive Hard Finish music rack will evoke the qualities of a modern grand design.
THE ELEMENTS OF K SERIES INNOVATIVE DESIGN
K-8 Tone Port
The K-8 offers two large tone release ports behind the music rack that allow for maximum sound projection across the full spectrum of tone. Another long, thinner port just above the lower panel provides additional ambient tone release.
Inverse Tone Release System
The Inverse Tone Release System utilizes an innovative new method for releasing tone. The front panel accent bars are designed with hidden tone release ports positioned in "inverse" order.
On the bass side of the piano, more tone is released on the lower end of the bar. On the treble side, more tone is released on the upper end of the bar. Like the K-8, a long port above the lower panel provides additional ambient tone release and balanced projection
Soundboard Design
K Series soundboards are made of solid quarter-sawn, carefully chosen and scientifically tested to exceed Kawai's demanding resonance standards for superior tone. For the K-3 and K-2, the
soundboard area, string lengths and number of ribs are maximized to exceed the specifications of other pianos and provide greater power and resonance.
Mahogany Hammer Moudlings
Mahogany is a superior choice for hammer mouldings because of its high ratio of strength to weight. Mahogany hammers are light weight and extremely responsive.
Duplex Scale
The duplex scale enhances harmonics in the treble range adding brilliance and richness to the piano's tone.
Agraffes
Agraffes ensure accuracy in string alignment, spacing and angles to produce greater uniformity of tone and consistent "speaking length" for each note.
"Soft Fall" Fallboard
Our ultra-slow, "Soft Fall" fallboard closing system with dual-damping mechanism protects hands and the piano's finish from the harm that a jarring close might cause.
Neotex Key Surfaces
K Series weighted and balanced keys feature Kawai's exclusive NEOTEX key surfaces formulated with cellulose fiber. NEOTEX offers the smooth, understated texture of natural ivory and ebony – and a semi-porous silica-filled surface to absorb the hand's natural oils and perspiration. It resists cracking and fading over years of use – and is static-resistant to prevent the build-up of unwanted dust. The result is a beautiful, long lasting key surface with exceptional playability.
Music Rack
All K Series models feature a wide music rack that can accommodate multiple music scores. Simulated leather material on the music rack surface prevents music from slipping.
Ten Year Full Warranty
To ensure your peace of mind and protect the value of your investment, every Kawai upright piano is covered by our Ten Year Fully Transferable Warranty. This warranty is the seal of Kawai craftsmanship... and the assurance of your satisfaction for many years to come.

ELEMENTS OF KAWAI UPRIGHT PIANO EXCELLENCE
Kawai ABS Action
Kawai upright pianos feature our exclusive Ultra-Responsive Direct Blow action that offers extraordinary feel and touch. Hammer heads are made with 100% wool felt. Hammer shanks and moldings are made with top-quality maple. To make the action resistant to climatic and seasonal changes in temperature and humidity, we pioneered the use of aluminum action rails, aluminum hammer rest rails and precision parts made of extremely stable, low-friction ABS Styran.
Exclusive ABS Styran Action Parts
The innovative use of ABS Styran in all our piano actions is one of the chief reasons why a Kawai piano will maintain stable touch and tone over time better than other pianos. Endorsed by leading piano technicians and proven superior in scientific tests, ABS Styran is supported by over thirty years of proven reliability in Kawai pianos. Read the Truth About ABS.
Soundboard and Ribs
The most important sound-producing parts of a piano are the soundboard and ribs. The choice of materials and the manner in which they are assembled can greatly affect volume and tone quality. Our wood technologists select only the finest spruce to ensure exceptional dynamic range and superb tone across the entire spectrum of sound. The Kawai upright pianos boast an exceptionally large soundboard area for greater tonal power and resonance.
Back Posts
Back posts support the plate and help maintain its structural integrity over the life of the piano. Our laminated back post construction is designed for maximum rigidity to provide enhanced tuning stability for decades of reliable performance.
"Matched Strength" Plate Design
The cast iron plate of an upright piano is subjected to as much as 20 tons of string tension. To enable our plates to withstand this tremendous stress, we use state-of-the-art CAD technology to match the strength and natural tonal resonances of the plate to the requirements of the scale design. The proper combination of plate design, back post structure, and string tension provides an extraordinary foundation for outstanding tone.
Pinblocks
A pinblock must be constructed and finished to the highest quality standards to ensure maximum tuning stability. At Kawai, we make our pinblocks from the finest hard rock maple and utilize machine-cut thread, reverse-torque tuning pins for easy tuning.
Cast Brass Pedals
Kawai's exclusive Cast Brass Pedals are extremely resilient. Made with a permanently bonded brass finish over a die-cast aluminum core, Kawai Cast Brass Pedals are significantly stronger and more durable than traditional "capped" upright piano pedals.

ELEMENTS OF GM SERIES EXCELLENCE
Steel Reinforced Keyslip
The GM Series keyslips are reinforced with a heavy-gauge steel inside liner that prevents warping or bending in any direction. Keys move freely with virtually no possibility of rubbing or sticking against the inside of the keyslip.
Reinforced Keybed
The GM Series keybeds are made of extremely strong, laminated hardwoods. Kawai also reinforces each keybed with an underside steel support beam for maximum stability.
Fully Laminated Beams
The beams are made of select hardwood laminates, glued together under pressure, making them virtually isotropic (equally strong in all directions) and impervious to weather changes and warpage. Our LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) construction method creates beams that are many times stronger than ones made of solid wood.
Multi-Laminated Pinblock
GM Series pinblocks are laminated with a minimum of 11 cross-banded layers of hard rock maple. Lamination provides more strength, greater pressure and more balanced torque on the tuning pins for superior tuning stability.
Environmental Responsibility
In 1997, Kawai’s Ryuyo Grand Piano facility became the first manufacturing plant in the piano industry to receive ISO 14001, the world’s foremost certification for excellence in environmental management. In 1998, Kawai was privileged to receive a second ISO 14001 certification recognizing exceptional achievement in re-forestation, energy conservation, waste reduction and natural resource preservation at our highly respected Maisaka Upright Piano Factory. In 1999, Kawai made history for a third time when ISO 14001 certification was awarded to our Märchen Digital Piano Facility. This unceasing pursuit of environmental excellence is our way of showing that we care about our world... and you.
Ten Year Full Warranty
To ensure your peace of mind and protect the value of your instrument, every Kawai grand piano is covered by our Ten Year Fully Transferable Warranty. This warranty is the seal of Kawai craftsmanship... and the assurance of your satisfaction for many years to come.
